I met with Amita and Kyle on Sunday last weekend for their backyard wedding ceremony with immediate family. I actually photographed their proposal last summer and like so many engaged couples right now, they were trying to figure out how to plan their wedding during this crazy time of COVID. About a month ago Kyle asked Amita if she wanted to elope and she breathed a sigh of relief and said "yes!" In a short 3 week timeframe they prepared a wonderful backyard wedding at Kyle's parent's house on Kent Island.
Guests attended virtually via Zoom, and Kyle's sister took video of the nuptials. I have had the pleasure of working with both of their families before as I also photographed Kyle's sister's wedding this winter at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club! Kyle's brother-in-law, Justin, even got ordained online and officiated their ceremony! It was a family affair with all hands on deck. I can't quite put into words what an honor it has been to work with this crew. I love these two families so much!!
Amita and her father shared a first look before walking her down the aisle. When she walked through the gate and Kyle teared up... gah! It took my breath away. Following their ceremony A+K took a moment to themselves and then thanked their virtual guests for attending. We all then congregated in the open garage for heartfelt and beautiful toasts and their cake cutting. Family portraits were taken to commemorate the occasion and then Kyle's dad drove the A+K and I around the neighborhood in a golf cart for portraits.
Amita and Kyle, It is amazing that you were able to pull your spectacular day together in a few short weeks! I am so happy for you and grateful to have been able to witness and document your day. It has meant the world to me. Sending lots of love your way, NEWLYWEDS!!! Congratulations again! xo, H
