As world travelers, there were many meaningful details incorporated into their day. Joanna's mother is from Scotland and they had a bagpiper play during the ceremony. Joanna also carried a handkerchief from her Grandmother that many of the women in the family have carried during their weddings. Joanna grew up in Thailand and its a huge part of her life! During their ceremony the couple received Phuang Malai from Joanna's father, a traditional Thai wedding garland that symbolizes luck, commitment, and the beauty of life in Thai culture. They also sipped whisky from the Quaich, a Scottish traditional wedding cup, symbolizing shared love and partnership to honor Joanna's Scottish heritage. Pat is Irish and his mother read a traditional Irish blessing during the ceremony. The setup, design, and florals of the day are by the fabulous Victoria Clausen - and I was blown away!
To the new Mr. & Mrs. Dowling -- thank you so much for having me, it was an honor!! Congratulations again, I wish you all the happiness in the world. Much love, H
