Last Saturday I photographed my first ever proposal!! Kyle reached out to me a month or so ago about his plans for their big moment. He and Amita were having brunch with Kyle's sister and her fiance. He sent me a map of the National Harbor where he planned to pop the question along with a photo of the two of them. They had their first date here about 5 years ago.
I felt like I was on a secret mission while waiting at the pier for them to arrive! As I spotted them, I felt myself jump with excitement! He turned her around, gave her a hug, and in one movement pulled the ring out of his pocket and got onto one knee. Smooth, Kyle! Her reaction was priceless.
Added bonus, Kyle had arranged for some of Amita's family to be there in the distance at the National Harbor. They took a moment to soak everything in, and he pointed them out to her. After running to them from their hiding spot, hugs, tears, and congratulations from all (including random people at the pier!) we got to hang out a bit for portraits.
What a perfect afternoon! I am so happy for these two and can't wait to see them again this winter at Kyle's sister's wedding! Congratulations Kyle and Amita!
