On Saturday, just before the storms rolled in, I met up with Lauren at the National Presbyterian Church as she was preparing for her wedding. She and her two best friends listened to Pandora while finishing up makeup, hair, and getting dressed. I had been looking forward to this day for quite some time because Lauren & Chris became instant friends when we hung out during their engagement session. Her father's reaction to seeing his daughter as a bride was priceless and one of the sweetest moments of the day.
Just after their ceremony we dove into family formals and then headed outdoors to photograph the bridal party. As soon as we opened the doors we heard the rumble of thunder and saw the storm clouds headed our way. Thankfully, we had just enough time to nab some photos in front of the church before heading over to the Whittemore House for their reception. Toasts were made, first dances were danced, a delicious dinner was enjoyed, and Chris' rugby team serenaded Lauren with the song Irish Eyes are Smiling. The two newlyweds soaked up every moment. We even snuck out into the courtyard for a few romantic night time images. Their wedding day was what every couple hopes and dreams for.
Congratulations again Mr. & Mrs. Weis!! Thank you so much for making me feel like a part of the family on your day. I am touched by your beautiful generosity and kindness.
p.s. Thank you, Lauren, for renewing my lost love of The Backstreet Boys (hey guys, don't judge!). I even broke out the old CD this week :)
