The blog was a little quiet last week, but that's because I was spending my days at the beach swimming and soaking up the sun. Know what? It was perfect! I got back just in time to photograph Lauren & Chris' wedding in DC on Saturday. Their day is coming to the blog this Friday!
I am a bit behind in sharing portrait sessions but I absolutely had to share Andrea & Ben's engagement session in Downtown Annapolis. These two are so incredible together and I am lucky to be working with them. Both are 1) hilarious 2) police officers 3) lovers of dancing in the kitchen and 4) avid hikers. Just to name a few qualities that make them awesome. They have the sweetest engagement story that literally gave me goosebumps!
Ben had it all planned out: they would drive to the mountains, set up camp, and wake for a hike to the peak where he would ask her to be his wife. If you're an outdoor girl, it doesn't get any better than this! However, when they arrived all the first-come-first-serve camping spots were taken, and with nowhere to camp, Andrea was ready to call off hiking. After much convincing, the two slept in their car and Ben woke Andrea up before sunrise to beat all of the campers who would be hiking the same trail that day. She couldn't figure out why Ben was moving so quickly that morning! It was so they could have the peak all to themselves and it paid off. When they reached the vista Ben asked Andrea to spend the rest of her life with him. It was just the two of them, in the early morning hours, with a beautiful view and no one else around. On the hike back down they were on Cloud 9 as they passed all the hikers heading in the opposite direction. Ahh! So romantic! I adore their story.
Ben & Andrea: I hope I did your engagement justice! You two tell it so much better :-) I can't wait to celebrate with you in October!
