Butterfly Macro

I like to chase butterflies with my camera. It makes me happy! It's time to slow down and take a closer look at our world. A much, much, closer look.

If you see me in my backyard sitting in the grass or standing over a bush with my camera -- you may think I'm a little strange! But really, I'm simply observing the world that goes on right under our feet. It really is quite amazing to behold, and yet, so frequently overlooked.

For those of you interested, these, and all of my other macro images are taken with my Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens. It is such an amazing lens and opens many new doors in photography! It allows you to get close up images, with great detail, from enough of a distance that you don't always scare away your subjects. PLUS the f/2.8 creates such a beautiful, creamy, bookeh!
