On Saturday I met up with Inra and Andrew as they were married on a penthouse rooftop overlooking The Wharf in Washington, DC. The last remnants of hurricane Laura were pushing through the area on Saturday and it rained all morning. By the time Inra was dressed and ready to meet with Andrew the sun was shining and the sky was blue! It was absolutely perfect for their rooftop ceremony.
Their original plan to be married at The Westin in Georgetown with family flying in from Korea was postponed due to COVID. After much deliberation they decided to have a Micro Wedding!! I have had so many positive experiences photographing small ceremonies with DC Elopements so it was a no-brainer who to recommend.
Inra got ready at The Canopy at The Wharf and later Andrew joined, then we all walked down to Andrew's office building a few blocks away for their ceremony. As we walked everyone wished them congratulations and waved to them. I 100% got chills as we were all grinning ear to ear. Who doesn't love love? It brings so much joy and happiness.
When we got to Andrew's office I never could have imagined the modern space we would discover as the elevator doors opened. His building has the most *spectacular* views of the Washington Channel, Washington Monument, and the Potomac!! My jaw dropped and my eyes went wide. There are very few places in DC with these kind of views. We took of photos before their officiant with DC Elopements arrived, and Andrew's family set up the Zoom call for everyone that was unable to attend. A short and wonderfully perfect ceremony later -- they are married!!
Inra & Andrew - From enjoying brunch together at Union Market, the phone calls as plans were changed and the world went wild, and most amazingly, to your wedding day... It has been a true delight and an honor. Congratulations again Mr. and Mrs. Son!
