On Saturday I joined Kim and Mike as they were married at Water's Edge in Belcamp, MD. Everyone was on edge and watching the radar as the forecast was calling for pop up summer thunderstorms. The soon-to-be-newlyweds had been dreaming of an outdoor waterfront wedding for months and months, and as we watched the precipitation percentage go down, Kim and Mike made the call to set their ceremony location up outdoors and we all crossed out fingers. Guests began arriving when out of nowhere the skies darkened and opened up -- just about 45 minutes before their ceremony -- sending everyone into the building to find cover. It rained for a solid 20 minutes while equipment was covered and protected and back-up indoor plans were discussed. Then, happily, the rain stopped, the skies turned a gorgeous blue, and the original plan was back on track -- just shortly before it was time to walk down the aisle! It was pure magic, I tell you!!
Kim and Mike got ready at a nearby hotel where I photographed them preparing for their day. Kim and her father had a sweet father/daughter first look that made me (and everyone else) tear up. Their ceremony was lovely and they each wrote their own vows to one another. Following their first dance and dinner we stepped outside onto the dock for a few sunset photos. The rest of the night was a blast and Justin with J White Productions kept the dance floor packed!
It was truly an honor to work with Kim and Mike and their families on their wedding day. Best. Job. Ever! To K+M -- Congratulations again!! I hope you're enjoying your honeymoon in Europe! xo, H
