On Saturday I met up with Lauren and Joe in Baltimore for their spectacular American Visionary Art Museum wedding. It was an unseasonably cool day with the temps in the 70s which made for tons of fun outdoor photos! The couple got ready at the Hilton Homewood Suites where they had a First look with their pup Pancake before heading over to the AVAM to be married and celebrate with family and friends. I have adored every second working with these two! The now newlyweds met while playing kickball in DC where they live. They incorporated a kickball and solo cup into their grand entrance together at the reception! I'm telling you, they're the best!!
There were so many special details throughout their day. Lauren and Joe exchanged gifts: her stunning jewelry and his new watch were gifts to each other. Their programs were designed by Lauren's talented nephew Caedan - it shows the couple underneath the AVAM LOVE sign. He is an artist and it was his first commissioned piece! What a feat at nine years old! Lauren's mother is an avid quilter and created a beautiful quilt in the style of the “album quilts” created in Baltimore in the mid-19th century. It was signed by friends and relatives to treasure as a keepsake for years to come. Lauren designed the paper decorations herself and it was the perfect added detail to their reception! We made sure to capture the unique and fun spots at AVAM in the bird's nest overlooking the city and under the LOVE sign :) Lauren's bridesmaids donned fun cocktail dresses of their choosing while the groomsmen wore light grey suits with Ben Sherman ties.
I am grateful to have worked with a spectacular team of vendors. Ashley with Ashley Jade Photography photographed the groom and groomsmen while I was with the ladies. Up Do's for I Do's did great work, as always, on the ladies' hair and makeup while the florals from The Modest Florist added color and pop to the day! I have been excited for years to work at the AVAM and it did not disappoint - what a fun venue!!
Lauren and Joe -- I can't say it enough -- congratulations again! It was such a joy to work with you. I hope you're having a blast on your honeymoon! xoxo, H
