Lucky Number Seven | Happy Anniversary to HRP!

Seven years ago I wrote these words.  I held my breath and took a leap making it public that I - Heather - was starting her own business.  I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and I was loving every moment of it.

As someone who sort of stumbled into the photography business, I didn't have an actual start date for launching HRP.  I came to consider the moment that I made my plan known to the world (that blog post) to be my "launch date."  A lot has changed over seven years but my love of photography, and my love of the people that I get to photograph, has never wavered.  It can be a tough business, but it is the most rewarding work I have ever done in my life.

Thank you to all of my past, present, and future clients for allowing me to come into your lives during some of your biggest moments.  When I started this business I had no idea the greatness I would get to witness or the wonderful people I'd get to meet.

I realized recently that in all these years I have never once acknowledged an anniversary date for HRP.   I suppose I'm feeling a bit sentimental and excited for the potential that this year holds.  I have some seriously out of this world couples that I get to work with!  Whoop!!  Words seemed necessary.

So, Happy Friday and Happy Anniversary to Heather Ryan Photography!  This weekend I will get to celebrate my business, my closest friend graduating with his Masters in Aeronautical Engineering (yeah, he's smart), and another dear friend's birthday.  I may need to pick up some champagne considering the circumstances.

...and because no blog post is complete without a photo, he's an oldie but goodie.  One of the first photos I took with that brand new dSLR over 7 years ago.  Happy Weekend!!!
